WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the manufacturer named below, today announced voluntary recalls of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of product: Dream On Me Baby Walkers

Units: About 20,000

Manufacturer/Importer: Dream On Me Industries, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Hazard: The walkers will fit through a standard doorway and are not designed to stop at the edge of a step. Babies using these walkers can be seriously injured or killed if they fall down stairs.

Incidents/Injuries: No injuries have been reported with the baby walkers. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.

Description: The recalled baby walkers have model number 408 or 423 written on a label sewn into the seats. Model 408 has a white and black tray and a black printed fabric base and seat, measuring about 25 inches by 28 inches. Model 423 has a red tray and a purple plastic base measuring about 25 inches by 28 inches. Both models have eight snap in wheels and a label sewn into the seat that reads "DREAM ON ME IND INC. BROOKYN, NY 112321, MADE IN CHINA."

Sold at: Small toy and juvenile product stores in the metropolitan New York area from April 2002 through March 2004 for about $25 for model 408 and about $30 for model 423.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Stop using the recalled walkers immediately and return the walkers to the retailer where purchased to receive a refund.
