Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA)
The Consumer Product Safety Commission can work with State Attorneys General to protect the public from dangerous consumer products using Section 24 of the Consumer Product Safety Act (“CPSA”). State Attorneys General have the authority to enforce certain provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Act under Section 24 of the Consumer Product Safety Act, 15 U.S.C. § 2073. The CPSA requires written notice prior to taking action under Section 24. For more information on Section 24, please reach out to CPSC’s State Attorney General Liaison, W.
