In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Avon Products Inc., and Cosmos Gifts Corporation, of Dallas, Texas, are voluntarily recalling Snowman Nightlight Diffusers. The scented oil can drip causing the nightlight base to crack or break, exposing electrical wire or metal parts inside the nightlight, thus causing a potential shock hazard. There is also a risk of cuts if the nightlight breaks.

Incidents/Injuries: Avon has received 33 reports of the nightlight base breaking, including reports of electrical shorts. One complaint involved a consumer who was scratched when the nightlight broke.
Description: The diffuser nightlight has a white plastic base. A porcelain snowman attaches to the plastic nightlight to cover the nightlight bulb. The nightlight comes with winter holly scented oil that is placed in the snowman's top hat.
Sold by: Independent Avon sales representatives and the Avon website from August 2003 through December 2003 for $10 to $15.
