WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Little Laura of California Inc. of Los Angeles, Calif., is recalling about 2,000 Sweet Suzana brand infants' shirt-and-pant sets. The shirts have tulip-shaped buttons that can break apart, presenting a choking hazard to young children.
CPSC and Little Laura of California Inc. are not aware of any injuries involving these garments. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.
The shirt-and-pant set is available in sizes 12, 18, and 24 months. The set includes a white and pink checked pant and a white short sleeve shirt with a white and pink checked collar. The front of the shirt is decorated with pink and green vinyl tulip appliqués and pink and green tulip buttons. The shirt has two sewn-in labels at the neck. One label reads in part, "50% cotton...50% polyester...RN#41601...MADE IN U.S.A." The other label displays the "Sweet Suzana" trademark.
Kids R Us stores nationwide sold the garments from January 1997 through March 1997 for about $14.
