Recall Details

Description:

The recalled Shorea wood hammock stands are natural or driftwood colored with an arc-shaped holder standing perpendicular to two base pieces. The stand is 14.5 feet long, 5 feet wide and 4.25 feet high. The stand is compatible with spreader bar hammocks, which are sold separately. The item/model number VFA042-1 or VFA287-1 is printed on the packaging.  

Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using the hammock stand and return it to Hayneedle. Hayneedle is offering consumers a full refund, including return shipping costs.  Hayneedle has directly contacted consumers who purchased the hammock stands.

Incidents/Injuries:

The firm received 25 reports of incidents, including four injuries with two that required medical attention.

Online at Hammocks.com, hayneedle.com and Walmart Marketplace from March 2012 through September 2013 for between $300 and $380.
