WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Charmglow® Gas Grills

Units: About 86,000

Distributor: Nexgrill Industries Inc., of City of Industry, Calif.

Hazard: The hose connecting the propane tank with the manifold can run up too close to the firebox. The heat from the firebox can damage the hose, causing it to leak gas. The release of gas creates a fire risk that could cause injury and property damage.

Incidents/Injuries: Nexgrill has received five reports of fires involving hoses leaking gas and more than 45 additional reports of incidents involving possible gas leaks.

Description: The recalled Charmglow® Gas Grills have a model number of 720-0036-HD-05, which can be found on the back of the grill. The stainless steel grill is designed to be used with propane gas. The name of the grill is located at the left corner of the exterior of the main burner lid. A temperature gauge is located at the center of the main burner lid.

Sold at: Home Depot stores nationwide from November 2004 through June 2005 for about $350.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the gas grill and contact Nexgrill Customer Service to receive a free, self-installation repair kit.
