Description:

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using CooCooBaby Baby Loungers immediately. The baby loungers violate the mandatory standard for Infant Sleep Products because the sides are shorter than the minimum side height limit to secure the infant; the sleeping pad’s thickness exceeds the maximum limit, posing a suffocation hazard; and an infant could fall out of an enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped. The portable loungers do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard. These violations create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants, posing a risk of serious injury or death. 

 

CPSC urges consumers to stop using the baby loungers immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous baby loungers.  

 

CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the retailer, CooCooBaby, doing business as CooCooBaby, of China. CooCooBaby has been uncooperative in the implementation of the recall announced on June 18, 2026, failing to provide the agreed upon remedy to consumers.    

 

Parents and caregivers are reminded:  

  • The best place for an infant to sleep is on a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet or play yard.  
  • Use a fitted sheet only and never add blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or other items to an infant’s sleeping environment.  
  • Infants should always be placed to sleep on their back. Infants who fall asleep in an inclined or upright position should be moved to a safe sleep environment with a firm, flat surface such as a crib, bassinet or play yard. 

The “Classic” and “Deluxe” CooCooBaby Baby Loungers are made of a foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers with a cloth cover and were sold in multiple styles and colors. The Deluxe lounger has buttons at the foot, and the Classic lounger has a ribbon tie at the foot. “CooCooBaby” and the manufacturing information can be found on tags on the side of both baby loungers.
