Recall Details
This recall involves non-UL certified Hovertrax brand self-balancing scooters, commonly referred to as hoverboards. Hovertrax hoverboards have two wheels at either end of articulated dual platforms and are powered by lithium-ion battery packs. The recalled Hovertrax brand hoverboards have serial numbers beginning with 55X120-01, 55X120-02, 55X110-01, 55X110-02 and 55X230-01. The serial number is printed on a white sticker on the bottom of the deck or on the charger.
Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled products and contact Razor to return their hoverboard for a free replacement hoverboard that is certified to comply with UL 2272.
There have been two reports of the battery packs in the self-balancing scooters/hoverboards catching fire, exploding or smoking. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
