Description:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hong Teng Trading (USA) Inc., of Orlando, Fla., is voluntarily recalling about 3,900 Electric Oil Lamps. The power cord is not polarized and is undersized. The power cord is not correctly secured and there is no strain relief on the switch housing. Additionally, the switch housing is not flame-retardant. As a result of these issues, the lamps pose shock and fire hazards.

Description: This recall involves all electric oil lamps sold by Hong Teng Trading. The packaging states, "LJY" and "Made in China". The white switch on the cord has writing on the back that reads, "TIAO GUANG" and HENG CHANG." They were sold in four styles and various colors.

Sold through: Dollar stores nationwide from October 2006 through December 2006 for about $1.
