Product Safety Warning Details
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using VONLX Hunting Safety Ropes immediately because the rope can snap if a consumer falls from a hunting stand while attached to the rope, posing a risk of serious injury or death from falling to the ground.
The Chinese seller VONLX has not agreed to recall these ropes or offer a remedy to consumers.
The hunting safety ropes have a 30 foot long, primary or “main” rope, which is thicker and has a black and yellow pattern, a black rope that is thinner and is fashioned into a prusik knot, and a metal carabiner with a nylon cover and swivel nut to ensure that the carabiner stays closed during use. The carabiner is secured to the main rope via the thinner black rope and can be adjusted to the user’s desired length.
Report any incidents involving injury or product defect to CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.
There is one report of a consumer falling to the ground after the rope snapped which resulted in nasal and facial fractures.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
