WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Asixxsix pool drain covers immediately. The drain covers do not bear the required product markings in violation of the mandatory safety standard under the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act (VGBA), posing risk of serious injury or death from entrapment and drowning hazards. The drain covers also fail to meet safety requirements because they are missing statements regarding the service life of the covers and installation and maintenance instructions.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller Shen zhen shi di li di ke ji you xian gong si, of China, doing business as, Guoenir. Guoenir has not agreed to recall the swimming pool drain covers or offer a remedy to consumers.
The swimming pool drain covers were sold online at Amazon.com from October 2023 through April 2026 for about $18. The swimming pool drain covers may also have been sold on other platforms and by other third-party sellers.
The round main drain covers measure about 4. by 2 inches. The drain covers come sealed in a clear bag that reads: POOL PRODUCTS GENUINE POOL PRODUCTS. There is a bar code label affixed to the bag which reads: X0040Q5SC1 Pool Main Drain, White Round. MADE IN CHINA. There are no visible markings or product identification on the drain covers.
These products were manufactured in China.
