Product Safety Warning Details
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using ALEBEE Bicycle Helmets because the helmets violate the retention system, positional stability, certification, and labeling requirements of the mandatory standard for bicycle helmets. With these violations, the helmets can fail to protect riders in the event of a crash, posing a deadly risk of head injury.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Shijiazhuangshitangtemaoyiyouxiangongsi, of China, doing business as Tangyuwangs Shop. The firm has been unresponsive to CPSC’s request to recall these helmets or offer a remedy to consumers.
About 360 helmets were sold on Amazon from May 2023 through September 2025 for about $33. The helmets may also have been sold on other platforms and by other third-party sellers.
The helmets were sold in one size fitting a head circumference of 22 inches to 23.6 inches. The helmets are made of a khaki-colored, wide-brimmed bucket hat with a black hard plastic inner shell, a khaki string and a black spring cord stopper. The helmets have “BUMP CAP” printed on a label located inside the helmet’s plastic inner shell. CPSC is aware that the firm also sold the helmets in black, brown, green, gray, and navy.
These products were manufactured in China.
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the ALEBEE helmets immediately, cut the straps, and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous helmets.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
