WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Children's hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings
Units: About 2,400
Manufacturer: Gogo Sports Inc., of San Francisco, Calif.
Hazard: The sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood that can pose a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: This recall involves three styles of children hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings. The zippered sweatshirts were sold in sizes XS through 3XL. The HAY style sweatshirts were sold in black, navy, light grey, charcoal grey and pink. The HKK style sweatshirts were sold in black, navy, light blue, light grey, pink and red. The JMK sweatshirts are reversible microfiber with polar fleece lining and a removable hood with elastic or retractable drawstrings. Style JMK was sold in black only. The sweatshirts have sewn-in neck tag that reads "Gogo Sports" and city names printed across the front of the garment.
Sold at: Clothing retail stores in California, Colorado, Hawaii and New Mexico from January 2008 through December 2009 for between $14 and $27.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately remove the drawstring from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard.
