WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of product: "Passport" Stroller

Units: 11,300

Manufacturer: Baby Trend, Inc., of Ontario, California.

Hazard: The fold joint can collapse unexpectedly, causing the baby to fall.

Incidents/Injuries: Baby Trend has received four reports from consumers of the stroller collapsing. No injuries have been reported.

Description: These Baby Trend strollers have the word "Passport" written on both sides of the canopy. Only "Passport" strollers with Model Number 1514, SKN number 190554 and manufacturing dates between July 10, 2003 and November 26, 2003 are being recalled. This information is printed on the lower frame of "Passport" strollers behind the seat.

Sold at: Babies "R" Us nationwide from July 2003 through February 2004 for about $29.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the stroller and contact Baby Trends, Inc. immediately. Baby Trend will ask the consumer to send a cut-out section of the seat with restraint strap attached. Baby Trend will send the consumer a new replacement stroller.
