The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Model WPX-4 Slide Playsets manufactured by Wenzhou Yidian Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd. immediately because the playsets contain multiple openings where a child’s torso can fit through the openings but a child’s head cannot, posing a risk of serious injury and death due to head and neck entrapment hazards.
CPSC is aware of one report of an entrapment incident that resulted in the death of a 17-month-old child.
The plastic playsets are designed for indoor or outdoor use and contain multiple activity components, including a tunnel, a slide, and a basketball hoop. Some playsets include a vehicle-shaped component on the side. The playsets are available in red, navy, coffee, gray, green, and yellow. The label on the product identifies model number WPX-4 and the manufacturer, Wenzhou Yidian Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd.
Wenzhou Yidian Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd., the manufacturer of the Model WPX-4 Slide Playset, has not agreed to an acceptable recall of these products.
