Product Safety Warning Details
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using “Relaxing Baby” Swim Floats immediately because they can flip over and/or submerge the occupant underwater, posing a risk of drowning to infants and toddlers.
CPSC is aware of a drowning death of a two-year-old child who was using the hazardous floats.
Wu He/Relaxing Baby, of China, the seller, has been unresponsive to CPSC requests for a recall.
The hazardous products are blue and green inflatable swimming floats intended for use by young children ages 3-36 months. The child is placed in a seat in the center of the float and secured with a buckle. Certain models of the product also include a detachable rear float.
The hazardous swim floats were sold on Amazon.com and are listed on other websites, like ebay.com.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
