The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Pletpet-branded bed rails immediately because they violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails, posing a deadly risk of entrapment and asphyxiation. When the bed rails are attached to a bed, users can become entrapped within the bed rail, or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress. In addition, the bed rails do not meet the structural stability or retention strap requirements, posing a fall hazard.

CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Shenzhenshi Honghuahui Maoyi Youxiangongsi, doing business as Szhonghuahui, of China. Szhonghuahui has not agreed to recall these bed rails or offer a remedy to consumers.
The adult, portable bed rails have a white and silver metal base, black foam hand grips and a storage pouch. They measure about 21.7 inches tall by 15.6 inches wide and 24 inches long. The brand name is listed on the product’s purchase order.
