The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Liko 9-Drawer Fabric Dressers immediately because they violate the mandatory standard as required by the STURDY Act, posing a deadly risk of entrapment and tip- over. If they are not anchored to the wall, the unstable dressers pose tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in serious injuries or death to children.
CPSC estimates that furniture tip-over incidents cause an average of 10 deaths and 5,300 injuries annually.
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the Liko 9-Drawer Fabric Dressers immediately and dispose of it in accordance with local disposal requirements or anchor it securely to the wall. Do not sell or give away these hazardous clothing storage units.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Shenzhen Haolang Garment Co., Ltd., of China. Shenzhen Haolang Garment has not agreed to recall these fabric dressers or offer a remedy to consumers.
The fabric dressers come in white, black, pink and gray colors. They are 43.3 inches wide, 31.88 inches tall, 13.77 inches long and weigh 34.17 pounds. There is no information on the packaging or the product.
