The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Jocoevol 6-Drawer Dressers immediately because they violate the mandatory standard as required by the STURDY Act. . If they are not anchored to the wall, the unstable dressers pose tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in serious injuries or death to children.
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the Jocoevol 6-Drawer Dresser immediately and dispose of it in accordance with local disposal requirements or anchor it securely to the wall. Do not sell or give away these hazardous clothing storage units.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the retailer, Shenzhenshi Yiping Keji Youxian Gongsi, dba Yinklev, of China. Yinklev has not agreed to an acceptable recall of these dressers or to offer a remedy to consumers.
This safety warning involves the Jocoevol-branded dressers sold as model BG-0605 and identified on the dresser label as model C-0633. The dressers were sold in black and are made of wood and have six drawers. The dressers measure about 47.2 inches wide, 32.2 inches high and 15.3 inches long. CPSC is aware the firm also sold the dressers in other colors.
