Product Safety Warning Details
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Etetoo Pull String Toys immediately. The recalled teething toys violate the mandatory standard for toys because the silicone strings are smaller and longer than permitted. The strings can reach the back of children’s throat and become lodged, posing a serious risk of respiratory distress and deadly choking hazard.
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the pull string toys immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous toys.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller Dongguan Takatu Technology Co. Ltd, doing business as Etetoo, of China. Etetoo has not agreed to recall these activity toys or offer a remedy to consumers.
This warning involves Etetoo-branded pull string activity toys. They consist of a light blue disc shape with a light blue ball in the center and four multi-colored, silicone tentacle-looking pull strings that run through the ball. The disc has four push buttons. “Pull String Activity Toy” is printed on the front of the product packaging and “X0043JN6N3” on a label on the back.
