Product Safety Warning Details
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using certain Wish Hair Dryers. The hair dryers, which lack an integrated immersion protection device, can cause death or serious injury due to electrocution and shock hazards. The hair dryers are in violation of the federal regulations for hair dryers and present a substantial product hazard.
The hair dryers were sold online at Wish.com for between $20 and $50.
This warning includes three hair dryer models. The Blue Light Anion Electric hair dryer is black or purple. The label on the Blue Light Anion Electric dryer reads “FOCUSUN F7 2300W 220-240V 50HZ.” The High-power Household Mini Folding hair dryer comes in a blue and white color combination with a red switch. The Hands-free Hair Dryer with Tripod Stand is white with an orange transparent nozzle. The mini folding hair dryer and the hand-free hair dryers have no identifying markings or labels.
CPSC notified Wish.com, of California, that the hair dryers do not meet U.S. safety requirements, but the firm has not responded to requests for a recall.
CPSC urges consumers to immediately stop using the hair dryers, and destroy them by unplugging, cutting the cord, and safely disposing in the garbage. Do not sell or give away these hazardous hair dryers.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
