Description:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using Muduo Crib Bumper Sets. The padded crib bumpers included in the bedding sets violate the federal ban on crib bumpers because they can obstruct an infant’s breathing, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to suffocation. This creates an unsafe sleeping environment for infants. Padded crib bumpers are banned by the Federal Safe Sleep for Babies Act.

CPSC attempted to contact DHGate.com for more information, but DHGate.com of China was unresponsive.

The bedding sets were sold online at DHGate.com by the seller “lilytoy1988” for between about $45 and $55. The sets came in various piece count, colors and styles.

CPSC urges consumers to stop using the crib bumpers immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous crib bumpers.

Parents and caregivers are reminded:

  • The best place for an infant to sleep is on a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet or play yard.
  • Use a fitted sheet only and never add blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or other items to an infant’s sleeping environment.
  • Infants should always be placed to sleep on their back. Infants who fall asleep in an inclined or upright position should be moved to a safe sleep environment with a firm, flat surface such as a crib, bassinet or play yard.
