WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using Good Bernie Bed Rails because they violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails, posing a deadly risk of entrapment and asphyxiation. When the bed rails are attached to a bed, users can become entrapped within the bed rail, or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Ningbo Yu Wei Import and Export Co., Ltd., of China, doing business as, Good Bernie. Good Bernie has not agreed to recall these bed rails or offer a remedy to consumers.
About 5,115 bed rails were sold online at Amazon.com from November 2023 through November 2025 for about $32. The bed rails may have also been sold on other websites.
The bed rails have white tubing with rounded black foam, rubber hand grips and a black fabric pouch. The bed rails are 13 inches wide and 24.4 inches tall. There are no additional markings or labels on the product.
These products were manufactured in China.
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the bed rails immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous adult portable bed rails.
