Description:

This recall involves Stanley’s commercial cylindrical series BMHA/ANSI Grade 1 heavy duty locksets with dead-latch components. The recalled locksets have brass, bronze, nickle, chrome or satin chrome finish. They were sold under various brands or private labels and with the following model or part number, located on the packaging:

Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled locksets. For Stanley Commercial Hardware-branded locksets, consumers should contact Stanley Commercial Hardware and for all other brands, consumers should contact Stanley Security Solutions Taiwan to receive a free replacement latch or to schedule an appointment to have the latches replaced free of charge if the lockset is already installed.

Incidents/Injuries:

The firm has received four reports of the latches failing. No injuries have been reported.

Stanley Commercial Hardware and other lock distributor and retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com and Grainger.com from February 2016 through September 2016 for between $170 and $320.
