The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Serene Float Tanks

Units: 5

Manufacturer: Brian Smith, dba Serene Float Tanks, of Lakewood, Calif.

Hazard: Electrical components in the float tank are not grounded, which can prevent the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) from tripping when needed, posing an electrocution hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves Serene Float Tanks, a water tank that is light- and soundproof, temperature insulated and ventilated. The heated tanks are filled with water and a dissolvent that allows a person to float effortlessly.

Sold by: The Serene Float Tanks Web site between August 2007 and October 2007 for about $6,000.

Manufactured in: United States

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled float tanks and contact Brian Smith for a refund.
