Description:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), See Kai Run, of Woodinville, Wash., is voluntarily recalling about 6,500 Children's Boots. Metals snaps on the side closure of the boot can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: See Kai Run has received one report of a child starting to choke on a detached snap from the boot.

Description: This recall involves the "Ellis" children's boot sold in pre-walk and toddler sizes 3 through 9. The boots are black with white stitching and were sold with either leather or faux fur lining. "See Kai Run" is written on the sole and insole of the boots. "Ellis - FF" or "Ellis - L" is written on the side of the shoe box under the Style heading. No other styles or models are included in this recall.

Sold at: Children's shoe stores, department stores, boutiques and Web retailers nationwide from November 2004 through November 2006 for about $40.

Remedy: Consumers should take the recalled shoes away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased. Consumers will receive a refund or replacement pair of shoes.
