WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Home Fragrance Holdings Inc., Houston, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 413,000 Cement Candles. The candles can unexpectedly flare, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Home Fragrance Holdings, Inc. has received nine reports from Pier 1 Imports of incidents involving flaring of the candles. No injuries reported.
Description and Models: The recalled candles are cylindrical pillars measuring 3"(d) x 4" (h), 3"(d) x 6"(h), and 4"(d) x 6"(h) with a sand layer base. The recalled models are the Cement Aspen Flower (White), SKUs 2115564, 2115577, 2115592; Cement Downpour (Grey), SKUs 2118150, 2118176, 2118189; Cement Biscotti (Khaki), SKUs 2115523, 2115536, 2115549; and Cement Citrus Cilantro (Green), SKUs 2115499, 2115508, 2115510.
Sold by: Pier 1 Imports through its retail stores nationwide, its Web site (www.pier1.com) and its Summer 2006 catalog from February 2006 through May 2006 for between $10 and $20.

The recalled bed rails violate the mandatory standard for children’s portable bed rails because, when installed adjacent to the bed, the child can become entrapped in the enclosed openings, the openings on the side of the mattress, and the openings on top of the mattress, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment.
