The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: "Snap Action" Thermal Switches
Units: About 113,500, including about 12,200 that were installed in buildings
Manufacturer/Importer: Honeywell Sensing and Controls, of Freeport, Ill.
Hazard: When these switches are used in fire or HVAC dampers and heat detectors, they could fail to operate, causing the damper not to close or causing the heat detector not to alarm if there is a fire.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported
Description: These "Snap Action" thermal switches were sold under the model number 2450A, 2455RA, or 2455RM. They have model numbers and date codes stamped on the sensing surface or end cap. Following are those model numbers and date codes that are part of the corrective action:

Remedy: Honeywell Sensing and Controls will provide a free replacement switch
