Description:

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Aviva Sports, of Osage Beach, Mo. is voluntarily recalling approximately 7,500 Astroslide Inflatable Water Slides. These water slides have an excessive length of rope attached to the safety mat that presents a risk of entanglement in the water. This poses a drowning hazard to users.

Hazard: These water slides have an excessive length of rope attached to the safety mat that presents a risk of entanglement in the water. This poses a drowning hazard to users.

Incidents/Injuries: Aviva has received one report of a child being tangled on the rope in the water. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The Aviva Astroslide 17048 is a large, inflatable water slide measuring 5-feet high and 9-feet long. It is used for sliding into a pool or lake. "AVIVA AstroSlide" is written on the sides of the slide. The slide is green with orange handles.

Sold At: Sporting good stores nationwide from January 2004 through May 2004 for about $99.

Manufactured In: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these slides and contact Aviva Sports to request a free repair kit. After making the repair, consumers can resume using the product.
