In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hill-Rom, a Hillenbrand Industry, of Batesville, Ind., is voluntarily recalling 2,900 rocking chairs. The chairs' support assembly can fail and cause the rocking chair to collapse, posing the risk of injury to the user.

Incidents/Injuries: Hill-Rom has received 40 reports of rocking chairs collapsing, including two reports of consumers receiving bumps and bruises to the head and shoulders.
Description: The wooden rocking chairs were sold in two styles, a contemporary model (PI155131) and a more traditional model (P155132). Both style rocking chairs have a clear varnish finish. The rocking chairs can be identified by washers and screws located under the seat, near the legs.
Sold To: Hospitals and other similar institutions between January 1997 and May 2003.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the rocking chairs and contact Hill-Rom to receive a replacement rocker glider.
