CPSC is warning consumers to stop using Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens with French Doors immediately, because they pose a risk of serious burns to consumers.
Product Safety Warning Details
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens with French Doors immediately, because they pose a risk of serious burns to consumers. Models affected include the MAXX and MAXX Advance.
CPSC’s investigation revealed that the doors can suddenly close on consumers’ arms while the oven is on, causing burns.
The original importers, Team International Group of America, Inc. and Kalorik, LLC, went out of business and are unable to conduct a recall. The current owner of the Kalorik brand, The Legacy Companies, LLC, has declined to participate in a recall of the affected ovens.
The ovens were sold by Team International Group of America, Inc. and Kalorik, LLC from April 2020 to January 8, 2024. The Legacy Companies, LLC sold the products after June 23, 2025.
CPSC urges consumers to immediately dispose of the defective ovens following local hazardous waste disposal procedures.
The Air Fryer Ovens with French Doors were marketed and sold under the Kalorik brand, as the MAXX and MAXX Advance models. The ovens have a metal frame and spring-loaded bilateral “French doors” made of glass with metal handles. The products with the door hazard may have been sold with various SKUs, Item Numbers or “Model” numbers that include the basic models, only differentiated by the number of accessories included, or the display panel used, offering options to consumers.
Report incidents involving the Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens, or any product-related injury, to CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.
CPSC is aware of dozens of reported burns, including at least one report of scarring reflective of second-degree burns.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
