In addition, the size of the handle on some of the rattles is small enough to enter an infant's mouth, lodge in the throat and cause a choking hazard or lead to bruises and lacerations.

Recall Details

Description:

The recall includes plastic rattles sold in various pastel colors and shapes, including a toy phone, animal, small buggy and sea horse. The rattles were sold in sets of five or eight rattles per box. "HANDBELL TOYS" is printed in the upper left corner of the package. "MADE IN CHINA" is printed on the bottom of the package. One set has "JUNYI" printed on the front upper right corner of the package and "ITEM NO. 58083801" printed on the back lower corner on a white sticker. Another set has "XIN DA MEI" printed on the front upper right corner of the package and "ITEM NO. 308363" printed on the back lower corner on a white sticker.

Remedy:

Consumers should take the recalled rattles away from children immediately and return them to the place of purchase or contact Toys Distribution Inc. to receive a full refund or replacement product.

The lettering ΓÇ£HIGH SCHOOL MUSICALΓÇ¥ with glitter on the pouch used with the manicure kit contains excess levels of lead. Lead can be toxic if ingested by young children and cause adverse health effects.

Bonne Bell Recalls Children's Cosmetics Accessory Bags Due to Risk of Lead Exposure
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bonne Bell Co., of Lakewood, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 945,000 Bonne Bell Children's Cosmetics Accessory Bags. The metal clasps on the handle of the accessory bags contain excessive levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested and can cause adverse health effects.

FUNTASTIC Recalls Fake Teeth Due To Violation of Lead Paint Standard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), FUNTASTIC, of Houston, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 26,000 Hillbilly Teeth. The gray surface paint on the teeth contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.

Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
