NEISS data can support your hospital's initiatives, such as:
- Needs assessments
- Safety programs
- Local, state, and national community partnerships
- ED trauma certification
Participating NEISS hospitals are also able to submit specific data-related questions to CPSC staff. Examples of hospital-requested data include firework-related injuries both before and during the pandemic, motor vehicle collisions while texting, and injuries related to products including mopeds, scooters, golf carts, and cribs.
De-identified NEISS data are made available to the public through an online query system. This data is used by multiple stakeholders in public health to help identify hazards causing injuries and deaths, and direct resources to address those hazards.
