To: Testing laboratories that currently test or may test in the future to 16 CFR PART 1239 — SAFETY STANDARD FOR GATES AND ENCLOSURES

16 CFR Part 1239 previously incorporated by reference ASTM F1004-21 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Expansion Gates and Expandable Enclosures

16 CFR Part 1239 now incorporates by reference ASTM F1004-22 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Expansion Gates and Expandable Enclosures
 

Effective date:  This rule is effective January 21, 2023

A laboratory is not required to resubmit their CPSC application if the laboratory is already CPSC-accepted for 16 CFR PART 1239.

For a testing laboratory to be considered for CPSC-acceptance, the laboratory’s accreditation scope must include “16 CFR PART 1239 — SAFETY STANDARD FOR GATES AND ENCLOSURES”
