CPSC Systems of Records Notices

The Privacy Act defines "systems of records" as "as group of any records under the control of any agency from which information is retrieved by the name of the individual or by some identifying number, symbol, or other identifying particular assigned to the individual." Federal agencies are required to make the public aware of what "system of records" they maintain.

You can find more information on governmentwide systems of records at: http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/memoranda_m99-05-c/
