"For the second time in one week, CPSC is holding a company accountable for not timely reporting a hazardous product that caused consumers to suffer burn injuries. The $4.5 million penalty agreed to by Sunbeam Products is appropriate and supported by evidence that the company failed to notify us in a timely matter--as required by law--that certain coffeemakers made by the company expelled hot water and hot coffee grounds onto unsuspecting consumers."
