Product Safety Warning Details

Description:

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using Girigi Magnetic Building Blocks immediately because the blocks contain magnets that can become loose if the blocks break or open, posing a magnet ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.

CPSC is aware of one report where a child ingested about 50 magnets, which required surgery to remove the magnets and to repair holes in his small intestine.

CPSC urges consumers to stop using the magnetic building blocks immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous magnetic building blocks.

The Chinese seller, mushanjiaju(dongguanshi)youxiangongsi, has not agreed to an acceptable recall of these magnetic building blocks.

The products were manufactured in China.
