Peer Review Agenda

The Office of Management and Budget has published a Peer Review Bulletin that establishes requirements for federal agencies for planning and conducting peer review of certain data and information disseminated by the agency. Agencies are required to have a web accessible plan for peer review of Highly Influential Scientific Assessments as well as any influential scientific information/assessment to be released that will have “a clear and substantial impact on important public policies or private sector decisions.”

Based on the review it has conducted, CPSC staff has identified the following upcoming activities as potential Highly Influential Scientific Assessments and/or as potential influential scientific information:

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Surface Coatings in Reducing Dislodgeable Arsenic from New Wood Pressure-Treated with Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA). Summary and Peer Review Plan (pdf) (draft report available in the Library section)

CPSC will revise this information as needed.
