Public Briefing on Magnets Final Rule.
On August 17, 2022, the Office of the General Counsel forwarded to the Commission a briefing package
recommending that the Commission issue a final rule pursuant to sections 7 and 9 of the
Consumer Product Safety Act, to address the risk of injury associated with ingestion of small,
high-powered magnets. On August 25, 2022, at 10:00 am EDT, staff will brief the Commission regarding this matter.
*On August 23, 2022, the Commission unanimously determined by recorded vote that Agency business requires calling the meeting without seven calendar days advance public notice.
