Janet Buyer, Matthew Brookman, and other staff are holding a public meeting to present an overview of how CPSC staff is evaluating the effectiveness of CO safety shutoff devices on portable generators.  Two voluntary standards for portable generators (ANSI/PGMA G300-2018 and ANSI/UL 2201-2018 ) have recently been revised to contain requirements for a generator-mounted shutoff system that will shut the generator off when carbon monoxide (CO) accumulates to certain concentrations around the generator.  The meeting is being held at CPSC, 5 Research Place, Rockville, MD in room 103 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.   For additional information, contact Janet Buyer, jbuyer@cpsc.gov (301) 987-2293.  Transmitted to the Office of the Secretary 9/19/18.  Posted in the Public Calendar 9/19/18.  (S)
