Decision
The Commission voted unanimously (5-0) to approve publication in the Federal Register, as drafted, of the notice of proposed rulemaking that would establish a safety standard for high chairs under the Danny Keysar Child Product Safety Notification Act, section 104 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of2008. The proposed rule would incorporate by reference the voluntary standard for high chairs into 16 CFR part 1231 and impose more stringent requirements for rearward stability and warnings on labels and in instructional literature. In addition, the notice proposes to amend 16 CFR part 1112 to include proposed 16 CFR part 1231 in the list of notice of requirement issued by the Commission.
