Statement of Commissioner Douglas Dziak Regarding Commission Leadership Changes
I want to congratulate my colleague and friend, Commissioner Peter Feldman, who was elected Vice Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission). With Chairman Alexander Hoehn-Saric’s announcement that he will step down as the Commission’s Chairman, Commissioner Feldman will become the Acting-Chairman.
For the past four years, I have worked alongside Commissioner Feldman, first as his Chief Counsel, and more recently as his colleague. We have been friends since 2006, serving together as U.S. Senate staffers. Peter is a dedicated public servant who has and will continue to work on behalf of American consumers.
The Commission has benefitted from Commissioner Feldman’s tenure as a Commissioner, and I am certain that we will benefit further from his leadership in the role as Acting Chairman. I look forward to continuing our work.
I would also like to congratulate Chairman Alex Hoehn-Saric as his time as Chairman concludes. As a result of his tenure, the Commission is a better place. I appreciate the work of both Alex and his team for their many contributions to the Commission’s mission. I believe consumers and the Commission benefited from Alex’s thoughtful and collaborative leadership. Alex treats his colleagues with the highest respect and I thank him for his service.
