Han Lim, Directorate of Engineering Sciences, will attend a virtual voluntary standard meeting with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) staff and the SAE J350 committee. This will be the second meeting to discuss test procedures for spark arresters of medium size engines. This meeting was organized by the USFS. Khalisa Phillips, ESHF, and other staff within the Office of Hazard Identification and Reduction (EXHR), will participate in a Webex meeting with the ASTM F15.19 Wearable Infant Blankets Scope & Definitions Task Group on 03/21/2024 from 1:00-2:00pm ET. Susan Bathalon and other staff will be participating in a conference call with American National Standard (ANSI)/Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) to discuss Aboveground and Onground Residential Swimming Pools The meeting is scheduled for March 21, 2024, at 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm EST. This is a meeting to discuss pool barriers and above ground swimming pool safety. This conference call with participation registration was requested by the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA). Zachary Foster, Division of Human Factors, and other CPSC staff will be participating in a virtual (Webex) meeting with the ASTM Infant Bath Tubs Warnings Task Group on 3/21/2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am ET. This meeting will explore potential revisions to warning requirements to better address hazards associated with infant bath tubs. Priscilla Verdino of Laboratory Sciences and other CPSC staff are participating virtually in a meeting with an ASTM F15.42 Furniture Safety Subcommittee Storage Ottoman Scope Sub Task Group. The meeting will include a discussion on a newly proposed standard for storage ottomans and discussions regarding the scope of the proposed standard. Scott Ayers of the Directorate for Engineering Sciences will present on the CPSC fire safety program during the South Carolina Annual Fire & Community Risk Reduction Summit. The summit will be held in person at two locations in South Carolina. On March 20th in Anderson, SC and on March 21st in Myrtle Beach, SC. Each day the summit will run from 8:30am to 4:00pm ET.
