What We Do
Most consumer products under CPSC’s jurisdiction are imported. The goal of all of CPSC’s international activities is to ensure the safety of imported consumer products used in the United States. We pursue this goal by working with international partners to improve manufacturing and regulatory coordination and to encourage the use of best practices that will protect consumers.
Who We Work With
- Industry associations
- Foreign government agencies that focus on safer products
- Organizations such as the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Organization of American States, and the United Nations
- Other foreign organizations engaged in consumer product safety work
Southeast Asia
This program focuses on CPSC stakeholders in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. It also works with the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation.
East Asia-Pacific
This program focuses on collaboration with key stakeholders in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan on consumer product safety.
Western Hemisphere
This program focuses on work with CPSC stakeholders in Canada, Mexico, other countries in our hemisphere and the Organization of American States.
Europe
The Europe Program focuses on work with CPSC’s stakeholders in European countries and with the European Commission.
International Organizations
The International Organizations Program focuses on work with global organizations such as the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations.
