CPSC documents its work on hazard identification and monitoring, regulatory activities, compliance and enforcement, as well as public outreach and intergovernmental coordination activities in an Annual Report to Congress. The report is required as part of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.

CPSC is committed to transparency and public engagement and has been implementing plans to meet these goals.
Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
CPSC ensures the privacy and confidentiality of the information we collect on members of the public, business partners and our employees. We collect, maintain, use and disseminate identifiable personal information only as authorized by law and as necessary to carry out agency responsibilities. CPSC staff has created PIAs for computer systems and applications to identify and mitigate any risks these systems may pose to personally identifiable information.
