WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Name of Product: Children's Boots
Units: About 6,500
Manufacturer: See Kai Run, of Woodinville, Wash.
Hazard: Metals snaps on the side closure of the boot can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: See Kai Run has received one report of a child starting to choke on a detached snap from the boot.
Description: This recall involves the "Ellis" children's boot sold in pre-walk and toddler sizes 3 through 9. The boots are black with white stitching and were sold with either leather or faux fur lining. "See Kai Run" is written on the sole and insole of the boots. . "Ellis - FF" or "Ellis - L" is written on the side of the shoe box under the Style heading. No other styles or models are included in this recall.
Sold at: Children's shoe stores, department stores, boutiques and Web retailers nationwide from November 2004 through November 2006 for about $40.

Remedy: Consumers should take the recalled shoes away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased. Consumers will receive a refund or replacement pair of shoes.
