Neighborhood Safety Network Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Neighborhood Safety Network?

The Neighborhood Safety Network, or NSN,  is a free, online service from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission that provides lifesaving information in the form of educational posters and messages to underserved and hard-to-reach consumers.

How do I receive information from NSN?

There are two great ways to receive information from NSN. One is to simply visit the NSN website at www.cpsc.gov/nsn, where you have access to safety posters, guides and toolkits. The other is to sign up to have monthly safety messages sent directly to your inbox. Family support agencies at all levels are encouraged to subscribe to NSN.

What is the cost?

There is no cost to join and use NSN materials. They are free.

How can I use NSN materials in my publications or presentations within my organization?

NSN and CPSC safety guides and posters are in the public domain. As such you do not need to request permission before using or sharing them.

Can I provide a link to NSN on my own website?

Yes. We encourage links to the NSN website and NSN materials.

Can I use NSN materials in their entirety on my website?

Yes. NSN and CPSC safety guides and posters are available for your use.

In what languages do you have NSN materials?

NSN posters are available in Spanish and English.
