The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Product: Certain Model Year 2006 Ski-Doo REV500 SS, REV 600 HO, and REV 600 HO SDI Snowmobiles
Units: About 4,050
Manufacturer: Bombardier Recreational Products Inc., of Valcourt, Quebec.
Hazard: Cracks could appear in the starter ring gears allowing gear fragmentation at high speeds. The debris could act like projectiles and cause serious injury or death to riders or bystanders.
Incidents/Injuries: Bombardier has not received any reports of incidents or injuries.
Description: The recall involves certain Ski-Doo Model Year 2006 REV500 SS, REV 600 HO, and REV 600 HO SDI snowmobiles. For a complete list of model numbers and serial numbers affected by this recall please log onto www.ski-doo.com The model number and serial number can be found on the tunnel.

Sold by: Ski-Doo dealers nationwide from August 2005 through November 2005 for between $5,000 and $9,750.
What to Do: Registered owners of affected models have been sent direct notice of this recall. Consumers should stop using these snowmobiles immediately and contact a local Ski-Doo dealer to schedule an appointment for repair service.
