Halogen Table Lamps Sold at Lowe's Stores Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of product: Halogen Table Lamps

Units: About 97,000

Importer: L G Sourcing Inc., of North Wilkesboro, N.C.

Manufacturer: Winsource Industries, Ltd., of Hong Kong

Hazard: These lamps can short circuit, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: L G Sourcing has received one report of a minor fire with the halogen table lamp. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled table lamps have a plastic base and two extendable arms connecting the base to a halogen lamp. The lamps were sold in white, red, blue, orange and purple. Item number 101988 is printed on the bottom of the lamp base.

Sold exclusively at: Lowe's retail outlets nationwide from April 2006 through March 2007 for about $10.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the lamps immediately and return them to any Lowe's retail outlet to receive a full refund.
