The following product safety recall was conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Men's Safety Toe Waterproof Hiker Boots

Units: About 1,300

Distributor: Rocky Shoes & Boots Inc., of Nelsonville, Ohio

Hazard: Product testing has demonstrated that the boots may not comply with applicable safety standards for crush and impact resistance. Consumers could suffer impact foot injuries.

Description: The recalled boots are sold under the Georgia Boot brand name and include style numbers G1623 and G1624. The style numbers appear on sewn-in labels inside the boot. These boots come in brown, rust, beige, and brown Nubuck, which is a light, brushed, full-grain leather, with black or tan nylon mesh and are fully lined with breathable moisture wicking material. The hooks and eyelets are set on steel washers with a rubber sole. The Georgia Boot brand name appears on the outer tongue label and the backstrap webbing.

Sold through: The recalled boots were sold nationwide through independent shoe stores, Web sites and other retail outlets from October 2005 through February 2006 for between $90 and $100.

Manufactured In: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the boots immediately and return their boots to the place where purchased for a full refund.
